Thinking back onto the last year, it’s easy to identify the negative stuff, look into the abyss of a life rather timidly lived.
But NO! I won’t be doing that! I’ll be writing down 7 things that should make us all feel grateful each day.
Waking up

This is one we don’t think of. Living another day just seems so usual, until we realise that not everyone has a chance to see and experience today. Be grateful for your morning breath, and the feeling you have when you wake up, being able to open your eyes, and stare the day straight in the face.
Being able to move

Whether you have limited movement to your arms or your legs. You can still move. Celebrate your body, by reminding yourself that you are beautifully, fearfully and wonderfully made🤍
Go do your workout and thank your body for it’s hard work. Take time out of your day and do a massage, maybe not everyday, but if you can,why not?
Stretch and bring awareness towards your muscles, bones and ligaments. Think about it, there are people who are living without limbs, and they would love to have the movement capabilities that you have.
Positive mind-set

Believe it or not. Being positive and negative when you start your day are all choices. Do not allow circumstances to take over in your mind and ruin your day. Please be kind to yourself. The world can be mean enough already, you’ll need someone on your side, and it might as well be you.
Nature

Oh maaan, we do not deserve the beauty of nature, until we are deprived of it. Living in a Gulf country, has got me missing some greenery , fauna and flora. If you’re living somewhere with all the above. Do not let me find you not embracing that… just know in advance, you were warned!
Grounding yourself in nature even if it’s desert sand is so needed and important. Embrace your inner hippy sometimes, yes, you too Susan, with your Prada handbag and 6 inch heals. Take them off and dig those feet into some grass, sand and natural floor covering. Thank me later.
Friends and family

Support systems are so rad. I cannot even remember the time I couldn’t talk to my family, but all I know is that those are probably the times I want to erase from my memory. I get so much energy from speaking to my support system. If you don’t have family you’re close to then go and find yourself some friend fam!! There’s nothing better than having an outsider perspective, and advise from someone who understands and loves you.
Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-5: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. … God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
Yup!! Just yup!! 🤍🤍 Love is sooooooooooo many things and we don’t even realise it. It’s not easy, but it sure is worth it. Love yourself, love others and Love your purpose, where you’re going, and celebrate where you are now.
Food

Oh the wonder of food. All kinds of food, the ability of food to change and affect our taste buds and body in such a healing and positive way. The colours, the tastes, the textures. Next time you’re eating learn to value these gifts from nature. Yes, I am talking about fruits and vegetables and all other nutritional beneficial foods of course 😉
These are simple, but if you try to focus on all 7 of these in a day, I can guarantee a better day and hell, a better life 🤍
So oulik!!! Trots op jou my kind!!
