I am a 23 year old South African woman, currently studying to become a Dietitian. I am blonde, occasionally funny and I have the most supportive family in the world. Like most other people I have learned the hard way in life, it hasn’t been a easy ride, but it sure has been WORTH IT. Now its time to put this experience to the test.
As we all know, the pressure of being a young adult in the 21st century is ever growing. The fact that we are ‘expected’ by social media to be a certain way and to look like some kind of sculpture while still trying to maintain healthy relationships, healthy diets, stay productive at work and uni and exercise is enough to drive anyone insane.
This is why I am now proof running possible ways to try and make these processes easier for any young adult. Whether you are still studying or working, this blog is for you. Never underestimate the power of habit, motivation and determination and always remember that starting is the easy part. We’ve all heard the saying “Consistency is key” and that is what my focus will be on. Giving guidelines on how to set goals for the year will start off the process and the willingness to learn more about yourself in the process of carrying out these goals will prove successful if done consistently.
Being a young adult myself I really believe that everyone experiences similar situations and its easy to get caught up in other peoples lives, I mean, its on every possible social media source. But take it from me, do a detox, get off that phone and start focusing on yourself, your goals and YOUR plan for YOUR LIFE. A great quote that I found says ‘If you want to fly, give up everything that weighs you down’, and this is what I want you to think about.
Tip #1 : Write down the people, activities and everyday stresses that weigh you down and do a detox in your life, by starting to let go of those things.
